Since I had Jax I absolutely have grown to LOVE marinara sauce. And so does my son. So we make and eat a lot of food with red sauce.

My husband's father in law (he's polish and we call him Dziadz) makes this delicious pasta sauce from scratch. We also ate this a lot on top of things, such as spaghetti squash (see Jackon's favorite Whole Recipe), while I did Whole 30. Here is the recipe!

Ingredients

2 boxes Pomi chopped tomatoes (we can never find Pomi at our own store so we just get any canned chopped tomatoes)
1 med onion (chopped)
Fresh Basil (torn)
Fresh Oregano (chopped)
1 cup Chicken Stock
3-4 Cloves of Garlic (sliced thin)
2 tbsp Canned Tomato Paste
2 tbsp Olive Oil
Salt to taste

Instructions

1. Put saucepan on medium heat.
2. Saute chopped onion in olive oil until soft (not brown).
3. Add salt, chopped oregano, and saute 1 minute.
4. Add garlic cloves sliced thin, cook 1 more minute.
5. Add tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.
6. Add chopped tomatoes and chicken stock and simmer for 20 minutes.
7. Add fresh torn basil and stir in.

Serve on top of angel hair or spaghetti squash!
