My Mama’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are to die for.

I have grown up eating my Mama’s Chocolate Chip cookies and they are addictive. I love eating the dough, I love eating the finished product, and these are the only chocolate chip cookies my husband will eat. People always ask for this cookie recipe after trying them, so I thought I would brighten the world one recipe at a time ☀️

1 lb butter
2 1/2 cup sugar
2 cups (light) packed brown sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
6 cups all purpose flour
4-6 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

2 cups crushed pecans (my grandma used to make them with the pecans sometimes, I've gradually not used them because I like the pure chocolate chip cookie nut allergies are very common  now)

I use my yellow kitchen aid mixer to mix the ingredients to make the cookies smoother(and I think taste better), but you can do it by hand as well!

1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Beat softened butter in mixer until smooth. Add both of the sugars and beat until smooth.
3. Add vanilla and eggs and beat for 3-4 minutes.
4. In separate bowl mix flour, baking soda, salt and mix well. Set aside.
5. Add already done sugar and butter mix to the dry ingredient bowl. and start mixing. Mix completely before deciding if the dough is too wet and you need to add a little more flour.
6. Add as many chocolate chips as you want. We prefer about 4 cups chocolate chips so that you have an even cookie dough to chocolate chips. (Optional to add crushed nuts at this time as well)
7. Mix well.
8. Scoop dough with ice cream scooper, level off the scooper with a knife, and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
9. Cook time is anywhere from 15-18 mins until a very light brown color. I usually do 7 mins on the bottom rack of the oven and then 7 on the top and check until they are at a nice color. If you overcook they will be hard and not nice and soft and chewy!
10. Take out and place on cookie rack to cool.
